Oh my God - I really cannot believe that we haven't written any blog posts since January...I mean, honestly - what are we like? Not wanting to point the finger, but I'm guessing that 'Im Indoors has just been too busy to find any spare moments to write, so out of the goodness of my heart I've promised to help him out, bless him. I can only apologise and say that we'll try to do better in future...
First things first, just in case you didn't realise it we offer Room
Only accommodation - which means that you can have a bit of a lie-in in
the morning if you want to and please yourself at one of the many lovely
breakfast eateries in town. All our guests like it this way,
and we even have nice silent hotel fridges (supplied with fresh milk and
bottled water, not to mention chilled wine glasses and champagne
glasses should you fancy a Buck's Fizz..) in our rooms, large enough to
hold extra milk, fruit etc if you choose.
One of our favourite breakfast places is the award winning Cafe Alf Resco, which is less than two minutes from our front door and is open from 7.00am until 2.00pm, however if you fancy a change you can also try any of these other places, which are all within a short walk of The Crow's Nest:
Saveurs - Genuine French cafe in Duke Street; The Royal Castle Hotel on The Quay; The Angel - Michelin Star restaurant on the South Embankment; The Sloping Deck, 10 Duke Street; The Old Market Cafe - at the entrance to the market (lovely bacon rolls!); Bayards Cove Hotel - Lower Street; Creperie Titia, The Quay - Real French crepes; The Flavel Cafe - Flavel Street, cafe in local Arts Centre.
If you fancy a stroll before breakfast, you can always walk out to the Castle Tea Rooms and catch the ferry back, or the other way round, or both! The Castle Ferry runs from South Embankment about a minute's stroll from The Crow's Nest - a lovely short trip giving you a new perspective of the town. look out for Miranda the Mermaid just before you land on the ferry slip...
